LeDrew Professional Sports Medicine is a multidisciplinary injury rehabilitation clinic in the heart of Etobicoke, Ontario that specializes in the rehabilitation of sports injuries, work-related overuse injuries, and motor vehicle accident injuries. The team consists of Athletic Therapists, Massage Therapists and a Physiotherapist. Team members have an abundance of experience with both Athletic injuries, as well as chronic injuries found in the general population. Please read below to meet our team of experts.
Jacquelyn LeDrew: Director; Certified Athletic Therapist
Jacquelyn was born and raised is Cape Breton, Nova Scotia. She moved to Ontario in 2012 after finishing a Bachelor of Science degree in New Brunswick. Athletics has always been her passion. The ability to combine her passion for Athletics with the passion of helping individuals deal with athletic and everyday overuse injuries, has become her niche. During her 4 year Bachelor of Applied Health Sciences in Athletic Therapy degree, Jacquelyn was the recipient of 5 prestigious awards, one of which was presented on field at a Toronto Blue Jays game. Among spending time working with various teams and sports organizations, including a season interning with the Toronto Argonauts Football Club, Jacquelyn has spent several years working with the general population, rehabilitating work-related, overuse, and motor vehicle accident injuries. Jacquelyn's goal is to provide an atmosphere nurturing to both athletes and the general population, in order to improve their Athletic performance and/or to get back to the everyday demands of work and leisure. Leon Samadi: Registered Massage Therapist
Leon is a seasoned massage therapist with over 23 years of experience successfully helping clients overcome their stress, pain and fatigue. Graduating from the respected Sutherland-Chan School of Massage Therapy in 1995, Leon has focused his practice towards helping clients reduce their pain and recover postural function. His core treatment philosophy is to help clients find the critical balance needed to have them functioning optimally and feeling their best. In addition to his therapeutic practice, Leon has spent nearly 10 years teaching massage therapy, instructing his students to manage a diverse array of clinical conditions ranging from headaches, low back pain, and tendinitis to whiplash, multiple sclerosis and spinal cord injuries.
Forum Gandhi: Resident Physiotherapist
Forum is a Resident physiotherapist registered with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario. Her educational background includes a Masters degree in Orthopedics and sports physiotherapy. Professionally she has gained over 6 years of experience in the outpatient physiotherapy practice in India and Canada. Her area of interest in physiotherapy practice includes musculoskeletal and sports injuries, pain management, post-operative rehabilitation, back injury prevention and rehabilitation.
She has taken several courses in manual therapy, neural mobilization and Pilates for rehabilitation. She is also a certified dry needling practitioner. She believes that for a complete recovery from any injury it is very essential to be in sync with the muscles and mind. Doing the appropriate exercises and having a holistic approach can help with a speedy recovery. Lastly, focusing on pre-habilitation can help individuals prevent future injuries, aches and pains.
When she is not treating patients, she keeps busy with Swimming, listening to music and traveling.
Sarah Alger: Certified Pedorthist
Sarah is a board certified pedorthist with the Pedorthic Association of Canada. She attained her certification in 2008 and has been practising in a variety of multi-disciplinary clinics for over 10 years now. Sarah completed an undergraduate degree in Kinesiology and the Diploma program in Pedorthic studies at the University of Western Ontario. Sarah has extensive knowledge in custom made orthotics, orthopaedic footwear and custom ankle foot orthotics. As a pedorthist she is trained in the manufacturing, fitting and modification of orthotics to assist in alleviating painful conditions, improve balance, control biomechanical functions and improve mobility as a result of accident, congenital deformity or disease.When she is not assessing feet Sarah has foolishly bought into the idea that she can master the game of golf.
Stephanie MacNeill: Registered Dietitian; Sports Dietitian
Stephanie is both a Registered Dietitian and a Sports Dietitian. After completing an undergraduate degree in Kinesiology from McMaster University, she realized her true passion lay in nutrition. She went on to graduate from The University of Western Ontario with Honours in Nutrition and Dietetics and completed her Masters Degree in Nutrition Communication at Ryerson University. She uses her knowledge of nutrition and dietetics along with exercise and the body's motion to make her interventions truly unique.
Stephanie is an athlete herself, having competed at Canadian national running championships ranging from 5 kilometres up to the half marathon. She works with competitive and recreational athletes of various ages and levels to help them optimize health and performance. She is excited to combine her love of food, nutrition and fitness to help others achieve their goals while maintaining a balanced lifestyle.
